April 2021 Streetfest Planning Meeting - April 8th @ 7pm - Celestine Community Club

Please join us for a Streetfest 2021 planning meeting on Thursday, April 8th at 7pm at the Celestine Community Club. Masks will be required and everyone needs to sit socially distant. We are delaying back a week from our normal meeting date due to the conflict with Holy Thursday and we are meeting at the Celestine Community Club because there is another meeting happening at the St. Celestine Dining Hall.

Streetfest is planned for Saturday, June 26, 2021 on the grounds of St. Celestine Church.

Streetfrest Planning Return on Saturday, June 26, 2021

We continue to plan that Streetfest 2021 will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, on the grounds of the St. Celestine Church campus. After consulting with a number of chairpersons the leadership team is optimistic that we will be able to hold the event. We ask all those who have been chairpersons, on teams, or volunteered at the Streetfest/175th in the past to put the date on their calendar and plan on helping in their normal role. We will monitor the developments and official guidance around the COVID-19 situation and act accordingly.

Our next public planning meeting will be Thursday, February 4th at 7 pm, location to be announced.

Streetfest is a major social event and fundraiser for the community and we know the importance of having it if at all possible. We had solicited and received most of our sponsorships for the canceled 2020 event before the pandemic began. We have banked that money to use to operate the 2021 event. We will be putting out a new sponsorship message in early 2021 for those who did not get to contribute last year. We will not be asking 2020 donors for additional support until they voluntarily elect to send it to us.

We thank everyone for their support in the past, their understanding about the 2020 cancellation, and look forward to uniting again as a community in June 2021.

Streetfest 2020 Cancelled - Streetfest Returns Saturday, June 26, 2020

Community of Celestine Inc. has decided to cancel the Celestine Streetfest 2020. The event will return on Saturday, June 26, 2021.  We were still planning to have the event until the announcement of Indiana’s Back on Track plan on May 1st.  This prevents any festivals taking place before July 4th at the earliest.

We did consider postponing to a later date in 2020, but after consulting with a number of our chairperson and leaders of the fest in meetings,  the consensus was that there would be too many conflicts with potential rescheduling dates and too much uncertainty in the current situation.

We want to offer a sincere thank you to our sponsors who have generously donated to funding what would have been our best Streetfest ever in 2020.  We have elected to roll those donations forward to put on the 2021 event. The 2020 sponsors are now 2021 sponsors.

As always, we are very appreciative of the various organizations, groups, teams, and chairpersons who power our event. We thank them for the diligent planning they have already put in for 2020, and we know they will step up to make Streetfest 2021 another big success.

There is a chance that some kind of fundraiser event may take place in the Celestine community on the 2020 Streetfest weekend. Please watch local and social media for details. 

We encourage you to support the events and fundraising efforts of the main groups in the community that typically benefit from the profits of Streetfest: Celestine Community Club, Celestine Park, Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus Council, Celestine Volunteer Fire Department, Northeast Dubois Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, and St. Isidore Parish. They all do important work in our community and need your support.

The State has announced no festivals are allowed to occur until after the 4th of July. We will solicit community opinion on potential reschedule dates or cancellation.

Streetfest 2019 Celebration Wrap Up Meeting

Please join us on Thursday, August 8th at 7pm at Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill basement for the Streetfest 2019 wrap up & celebration meeting. We ask someone from all areas of the fest attend to give a brief report on what went great and what needs noted to be improved for Streetfest 2020. Free food and drink will be provided! If you want to get involved with helping plan the fest for 2020 this would be a great meeting to attend and step up to help keep this amazing fest going!
